Het Lichtatelier
At the Lighting Workshop, authentic historical lighting and switchgear from 60 to 120 years old is redesigned and restored. This preserves it for future generations.

The material comes from factories and switching stations in Enschede, Twente, the Netherlands and Europe that have since been demolished. Meanwhile, around 70 different lamps hang there. Each with its own story. It is the story of the industrial revolution and the demise of many industries.
The stories have been chronicled by artist Rico Pronk, who also collected all the materials. The stories can be read in the studio where there are many more historical materials in the form of writings and objects. As a result, we work in a kind of museum environment.
A visit to the museum is a journey into the past. Enschedeans' grandparents worked under certain lamps.
On Rico Pronk's site, you can also read many stories and see projects he has also made.
