Petting zoo Noord
On the edge of Enschede, where the city fades into fields and meadows, you'll find one of the most beautiful children's farms in Twente.
A traditional Saxon farm from the early 20th century, it was converted in the 1970s into a place where children can get plenty of exposure to animals and crops.
Spread out over a spacious two hectare area, the farm features barns, aviaries, meadows, a pond, an orchard, vegetable gardens and a large playground. At its heart stands an old farmhouse, lovingly inhabited for over thirty years by a family with a true passion for the farm.
The children’s farm welcomes around 80,000 visitors each year. On sunny days, it’s buzzing with activity. One of the most popular things to do? Feeding the animals!
You can get animal feed from the caretaker and the chickens, ducks, goats, donkeys and sheep will love you for it.
After visiting the animals, kids can burn off their energy on the playground, and round off their day with a glass of lemonade or a tasty ice cream.
