Revive old times on the waters of Het Rutbeek. Participate in an old-school windsurfing competition and family beach event. Pull your Old Door out of the shed or score one. The more original, the better!
In the 80s and 90s, windsurfing was practised en masse on Dutch waters. In Enschede, a real "windsurfing scene" emerged at Het Rutbeek. In 1979, which is now 40 years ago(!), a surf club, the Rutbeek Surfivors, was founded at Het Rutbeek. At its peak, the club had over 1,200 members. It was the largest surf club in the Netherlands.
The Oude Deuren Cup Rutbeek Surfivors is a competition at Het Rutbeek where the competition is combined with conviviality and fun.
It will be a day at the beach for the whole family. There is plenty to do and experience apart from the windsurfing! Food, drinks, watch and let yourself be entertained! Furthermore, there is plenty to do for the kids and there will also be free clinics by Paddle & Surf with Mistral SUP Boards. Afterwards, there will of course be the award ceremony, a cosy after-party, with music and a DJ and (for everyone who wants to be there) a chilled barbecue.
