Grote Kerk

Culture and religion under one roof at the Grote Kerk in Enschede.

The nave of the church accommodates 400 visitors. Every year, chamber, baroque and early music, choral, world and, of course, organ music resounds in the church's atmospheric ambience. Dance and musical theater performances are also regularly organized. 

This beautifully atmospheric church with its stained glass windows, chandeliers and candles is an unforgettable location for a celebration. The Grote Kerk, also known as 'the living room of Enschede', is a part of the Wilminktheater & Muziekcentrum Enschede and can be rented as a venue for events and parties. 

Located on the Oude Markt, it is certainly the most central location. Of particular note is the beautiful Lambertus van Dam organ from 1892. As part of the Music to provide receptions up to 250 guests or dinners with live music for 200 guests. 

City Carillon Enschede 
In the Grote Kerk you will find the Stadscarillon of 49 bells. These bells are played by a large playing drum, but Enschede also has a City Carillonneur. She regularly plays songs and melodies.
