Coziness at the Oude Markt

It's time to have some winter fun again at the ice skating rink at the Oude Markt from the 1st of December until the 7th of January 2024. This year we combine the 'gezelligheid' of Enschede with coldness and a variety of activities. Get creative, eat good food, go curling, or join the Friday disco.

The Enschedees Schaatscafé at the Oude Markt is the place to be this winter. Drink a hot chocolate in the cafe, get the skates ready, and see whether the talent is in you! Entrance is €5,- and the skates can be rented for €2,50. Or make use of the Singelschaats Stempelkaart!

Ice skating is possible every day from 9:30h to 22:00h, from December 1 2023 until January 7 2024.*

Costs: Entrance is €5,- and ice skates can be rented for €2,50

*Mind you: first and second Christmas day, New Years Eve- and day, the rink is open until 18.00.

The Singelschaats Stempelkaart
Brand new this year is the 'Singelschaats Stempelkaart'. With this special ticket, you can go ice skating 10 times, for the price of 8 times (including the rental of ice skates). The card is not personalised. Purchase is possible only until the first of December at the Tourist Info, Langestraat 41, while stock lasts.

Winter Wonderland

Besides the ice skating rink, many other winter-themed activities are planned. The city centre has been decorated attractively with extra lights and Christmas objects. Stadsherbergs, Wilminktheater en Muziekcentrum Enschede, and other parties will do their utmost to make the Christmas atmosphere fully felt!

What's happening at the Skating Rink on the Oude Markt in Enschede in 2023/2024?

Sinterklaas on the skating rink

From 1 to 5 December, Sinterklaas' throne will be at the Skating Rink. On 1 to 3 December from 15:00-17:00 and on 4 & 5 December from 15:00-16:00 he will visit the Skating Rink. On 1 December there will also be a real Pieten disco!

Breakfast & sliding

Want to start the Sunday morning actively? Come have breakfast and slide! Breakfast & sliding is available on several Sundays from 9:30 to 11:00. Breakfast is in buffet style, hot drinks, juice and milk are also included! There are a maximum of 50 places per day. You have breakfast and can ice skate for €14,95 per person. You can skate for as long as you like.

Kids' disco

Every Friday from 15:00 to 18:00, the Fit & Fun DJ plays the cosiest kids' tunes and turns on the disco lights for extra fun. On Friday the 1st of December this will even be kicked off with the one and only Pieten disco.

Open Enschedees Schaatscafe curling tournament

This year the curling stones are ready again and you can compete for the 'Enschedees Schaatscafe championship'. Will you follow in the footsteps of last year's winner, Rabobank? Winter pub quiz with Jan Bruins

On 6 and 20 December, teams will compete against each other for an Enschedees Schaatscafé Gluhwein beer during this cosy pub quiz. A team consists of a maximum of five people and the entry fee is €15,00 per team, including five consumption coins. Sign up here!

Christmas afternoon for parents with children

Will you come and celebrate Christmas afternoon at the ice rink this year? Have a nice drink in the Enschedees Schaatscafé, while your children (4-12 years old) can skate, do crafts, face painting and much more. A big party for the whole family.

Ice princes(ses) skating

On Tuesday January 2nd, between 9:30-11:00am, all Elsa's, Anna's and Olafs may come to the ice rink to skate in costume. A morning for real ice princes and ice princesses.
